Salford’s Largest Zumba Class to be held in aid of Sport Relief 2016
On Friday 18 March, we hope to hold Salford’s largest ever Zumba class to raise funds for Sport Relief 2016 and we need you to make it happen.
Led by popular Zumba Instructor Jack, this ‘Mass Zumba’ class will take place in the sports hall from 12.00pm and we want to get as many of you as possible to take part in this Latin-inspired cardio-dance workout. To get involved, you can register by emailing DSAS-Events@salford.ac.uk or turn up on the day with your small donation of £2.
Sport Relief is a charity event which brings together the worlds of sport and entertainment to raise money to help vulnerable people in both the UK and the world’s poorest countries.
The Zumba class falls on the first day of Sport Relief, which lasts until 20 March.
It’s a great way to #GetActive, sample a prominent element of the Sport Centre’s fitness class programme and raise money for a fantastic cause.
Organiser Graham Rimmer said: “Sport and keeping fit often have a stigma attached and exercise is seen as a chore. We want to show that keeping fit can be fun and Salford’s largest Zumba class in aid of Sport Relief is just that: having fun with your friends and colleagues while getting that regulatory 30 minutes of exercise.
He added: “Working alongside the Sports Centre and the Students’ Union’s Give Sport a Go campaign, this event will bring colleagues and students together in a light-hearted, social environment whilst raising money for a national charity.”
