Salford ranked in the top 50 for eight student experience rankings

The University of Salford has been ranked in the UK’s top 50 universities in a recent nationwide survey carried out by Whatuni.com.

Whatuni.com, a university and degree comparison website, asked more than 25,000 students across 125 universities to rate their higher education institution on 10 categories that impact them most during their time of study.

Salford jumped 54 places to 47th in the main category ‘University of the Year’. Salford also made increased improvements in ‘Student Support’ (12th), ‘The Student Union’ (20th), ‘Job Prospects’ (21st), ‘Course & Lectures’ (23rd), ‘University Facilities’ (30th), ‘International’ (32nd)’, and ‘City Life’ (41st).

Salford ranked just outside the top 50 for ‘Accommodation’ (51st) and ‘Clubs & Societies’ (58th), despite making improvements on last year’s position also.

These rankings form as part of the Whatuni Student Choice Awards (WUSCA), which is the only university ranking that relies solely on student opinion.

Reviews are collected and validated by Whatuni’s staff before going live on the site to help future students make informed choices about their higher education options.

Your Vice-Chancellor, Professor Helen Marshall, said: “This is great news and we are all extremely proud of the results.

The University is receiving very positive feedback regarding the quality of our student experience, including a good performance in the NSS,  Times Higher Education (THE) top 200 international university ranking, THE top 150 ‘young’ university ranking, three nominations in the THE Leadership & Management awards and top 200 QS World ranking for two of our subjects.”
