Placements Plaza makes fantastic first impression

The first-ever Placements Plaza, held on Wednesday (04 November), has made a fantastic first impression after 170 of you attended the flagship event.

Thanks so much for your fantastic attendance and for your questions to the 24 speakers on the day. These speakers included academic staff, students who had completed placements, and employers from a diverse range of organisations including KPMG, Balfour Beatty and Kidscan.

The placements plaza was a successful addition to our annual programme of careers fairs. Tahira Majothi, one of our Careers Consultant’s, organised the fair.

Tahira said: “It was a really well attended event and so great to see students switched on about the importance of undertaking a placement. Speakers highlighted the value of placements to help students to apply their knowledge, experience and skills in the world of work."

Tahira also commented that she was particularly impressed that some of you sent Linkedin connection requests to the day’s speakers, ahead of the events.

If you are considering undertaking a placement, take a look at our resources online here and call into the Careers and Employability Service, University House to pick up some free guides, detailing top undergraduate placement opportunities across the UK.
