Library Development Project – further information about May and June activities
Preparatory work on our £5.8million development project to improve your Clifford Whitworth Library gets underway from Monday, May 23. During this week contractors will work throughout the night to avoid disruption during the day.
From the following week the second floor will be closed. Please ask library staff at the desk if you require anything from areas that are closed and they will get it for you.
Books on the second floor will be relocated to the ground floor from June 6 and the refurbishment of the second floor will begin. Stock will be temporarily unavailable as it is transferred between floors – again please ask at the desk if you’re having problems locating something as we may be able to point you towards alternative sources.
A pop up Library space will open in the Chapman Building in early June, providing Clifford Whitworth Library users with a close-at-hand, alternative location in which to study whilst the refurbishment work progresses. The space will include PCs on the first floor, a help desk, printing facilities and bookable group study rooms.
We will keep our web pages and the notice board at the entrance to Clifford Whitworth Library regularly updated, alerting you to any likely disruption, and the solutions we’ll put in place to help ensure that your study time goes smoothly.
