Kick-start your idea with FundUS – application deadline extended to 13 December
Want the opportunity to turn your idea into a reality? The University’s crowdfunding hub, FundUS, needs YOU and your project for the exciting re-launch of this digital fundraising stream.
FundUS, managed by our Alumni Engagement & Development team, launched with a pilot in the Spring and after the success of that, we are looking for up to three new projects to partner with us in fundraising for priorities with students at their heart in February 2018. Designed as a fundraising stream for projects where other sources of funding are limited, we are looking for the next student play, Student Union team or outreach initiative that not be able to go ahead without a funding source.
While being selected as one of our successful crowdfunding projects does not guarantee the funding that your project needs, it is an exciting opportunity to collaborate with colleagues from across professional services to reach out to a digital audience, ready and waiting to back your project.
Applications are welcome from staff and students alike, but we are particularly interested to hear from you if you know of a student-managed group that are waiting to get their project off the ground.
Claire Green, Development Manager said: “Crowdfunding is a unique and rewarding way of seeking funding, and particularly has so many benefits for students. Universities across the country, such as York, Essex and Southampton have already experienced meteoric success in the funds that they have been able to allocate to the student experience through their work in crowdfunding.
“As prospective crowdfunding projects will be required to make a pitch to us, make a communications plan, and have a handle on digital marketing, crowdfunding with FundUS is a fantastic opportunity for student teams looking to enhance their graduate skills and add something truly brilliant to their CV.”
To get a taster of the past project that FundUS successfully supported, take a look at the video below, thanking donors for the £6,000 raised to enable six Salford students to travel to Uganda to gain a life-changing study experience and support local communities through an initiative run through Salford Knowledge 4 Change.
Please note the deadline for applications has been extended slightly to 5pm on Wednesday 13 December.
Please share this info far and wide with your contacts in our student community. If there are any questions about FundUS and crowdfunding, please feel free to contact Lauren Taylor via email firstname.lastname@example.org .
We can’t wait to keep you updated with the success of FundUS at the University of Salford.
