Funding awards up to £5000 available through Santander partnership

Funding awards up to £5,000 are available if you want to travel abroad, make a difference to your community or get your business off the ground.

Offered in partnership with Santander Universities, these grants can progress your career while enabling you to do something you’re passionate about.

Have a look at the three awards before and make sure you get your application in before the deadline.

Start-up Awards

Want to implement your business idea? Then our Start-up award could be the driving force in getting your business into gear.

Applicants are able to win up £1,000 and have until 19 November to apply.

Last year, Carole Leeder was one of 15 winners who won £1,000 towards her business idea, ‘The Foot Hub.’ After receiving this, Podiatry student Carole went onto convert her garage into a clinic serving the people of Warrington.

She said: “The whole process from start to finish is very easy and the Enterprise Team were brilliant at keeping me informed every step of the way.  I would definitely recommend that any student who is planning to set themselves up in a business, no matter how small, should contact the Enterprise Team to find out more.”

Make THE difference award

As a University community, we all have a passion to change the world for the better and we are here to help you achieve that aspiration. Our Make THE Difference Award offers grants of £1000 for those of you with a desire to change the community around you for the better.

One of last year’s winners now runs an afternoon tea bus, which she drives around the country and hosts dementia friendly events and much more.

If you want to apply please submit an online application here by 17 November.

Travel Awards

Santander Universities can also help you travel abroad as part of your studies. So, if you’ve like to conduct research, attend conferences and maybe even get some sunshine at the same time, this could be for you.

The Travel Award offers one student the chance to win £5000 towards their travel. That’s not it though; they’re also offering funding of £1000 and £500 – so there’s a chance for everyone to win the funding.

To apply you must complete an online application detailing your project and how the funding can help you. Submit your entry here, before the deadline on 17 November.
