Nominate yourself for the Sean Morley Memorial Prize

The Sean Morley Memorial Prize would like as many of you as possible to nominate yourselves for this award.

The prize is dedicated to the memory of Sean Morley who was killed in a hit and run accident in 2012 shortly before starting his final year as an undergraduate student at Aberystwyth University.

To be in with a chance of winning, you must have conducted a project that contributes to road safety. It is not restricted to the obvious areas of road design or traffic features, but captures anything that might make the roads safer including work on policy, safer instrument and navigation systems, pedestrian behaviour or reflective clothing as examples.

Nominations are considered by a panel of road safety experts and shortlisted students are invited to present their work to industry experts and VIPs at the Palace of Westminster in October. In addition to the chance to profile their work, shortlisted nominees also receive a cash prize.

If you have conducted a project this year that might be suitable for this award please discuss this with your supervisor who will be able to help you make a submission for this award. This is an annual award and so those of you planning projects for future years may want to consider the opportunity to work in this area that has the potential to offer substantial social value.

If you are interested please contact Gillian Lomas.

Closing date for responses is Friday 2nd June 2017.
