The Santander Universities Entrepreneurship Awards were launched in 2011. Since then, they have grown to be the UKs largest student and graduate business pitching competition. Santander reward entrepreneurs by offering cash prizes, mentoring and start-up support and have so far given away more than £260,000 to start-ups and small businesses. The winners will not only receive a cash prize, but will have the opportunity to make use of the bank's services to help them start up their proposed business. The prize money awarded varies between £1,000 and £25,000. This year there is a prize pool worth over £100,000 which will include equity-free seed funding, mentoring, access to talent and more.
Building on the success of our previous innovation competitions, we are excited to run a new initiative called Innovating Future Business. The competition encourages innovative, forward-thinking business ideas and is open to current students and staff of the University of Salford, as well as students and staff from partner higher education providers also including the Alliance University group.
This competition will include multiple investors and Universities in a true Dragons Den Style. The prize pool is over £3000 but if you impress the judges, you will be in with a chance for further investment at the discretion of the participating company. These partner organisations will also take part in the mentoring process, through guest lectures and workshops, and the selection process and the ultimate competition event, held during the finale. This is a great opportunity to get feedback from industry leaders and make your business idea into reality.
