We all wonder what skills and attributes employers look for when they recruit graduates – well, now you can hear it straight from the horse’s mouth at our Languages Industry Panel & Networking event.
Our Careers Team have organised this series of noteworthy talks for those of you with language skills. So if you’re bilingual, studying languages with us, and considering a career in the language industry, this is the event for you.
There will also be a presentation from the European Commission on the day entitled ‘Working as a Translator within EU Institutions.’
The event will take place from 1.00pm – 3.00pm on Wednesday 17 February 2016, in room 813 in Maxwell Building and all students with language skills are welcome to attend.
You will hear from a graduate who teaches German, Spanish, Italian and French. She will talk about the PGCE qualification in Modern Languages.
Another graduate will talk you through her career path in freelance in-house translation as well as her entrepreneurship.
The Course Leader of MA Interpreting and Translation and a Translator and Terminologist at European Commission will also be in attendance to share their experiences and advice with you.
