Change the world in one minute with Salford Student Volunteering Week

Think you’re too busy to volunteer? If you’ve got one minute then you can help!

This week is Student Volunteering Week and we are asking you to donate at least one minute to change the world!

Demonstrations and games at events across campus will demonstrate how one small action can make a bigger change, helping you to have a positive impact on the society and world around you. The full range of activities can be viewed over on our volunteering website here and we invite you to come along to as many as you like. You can also see a snapshot of what is going on below:

  • All week - Outreach stands in University House, Allerton building and MediaCityUK with activities and information
  • Thursday - Buy an extra item from our greengrocers stand on Thursday to donate it to the café at The Booth Centre
  • Friday - Help tidy and plant the wildlife garden at John Lester & Eddie Coleman halls or help us plant edibles right here on campus
As part of the week, we also want to celebrate the fantastic contributions to society our students make through volunteering. If you know someone who gives up their time to volunteer, please nominate them by emailing Cath Foster, Community Engagement and Volunteering Officer, to receive a special thank you surprise.

Come along and fight food poverty, beat cancer sooner, improve your environment or change the world
