Activities to take place across campus for Mental Health Awareness Week

We will be running a number of activities across campus for Mental Health Awareness Week, which runs from Monday 08 May to Friday 12 May.

The nationally celebrated week falls at an important time of year for yourselves, with many of you needing to take care of your mental health during the exam period.

The first three days of the week will be focused on mindfulness – an exercise that will help you pay more attention to the present moment.

Two all-day mindfulness colouring sessions will take place, with the first one happening in Atmosphere Bar & Café on Monday and the second one taking place in Allerton Canteen on Wednesday.

There will also be two Mindfulness Sessions in the new Faith Centre, with one on Tuesday at 12PM and one on Wednesday at 3pm.


A number of external organisations, including 42nd Street, Manchester Mind, Papyrus, Samaritans and the Energise Centre, will be coming to campus on Thursday from 11AM to discuss their organisations and the support they have available for students. They will be at Allerton Foyer.

On Friday, there will be a boxfit session and swim and sauna in the Sports Centre from 1pm and a relaxation session in Mary Seacole, MS264 from 2pm.

All events are free.
