Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS)

Salford Professional Development has agreed a major international collaboration offering project management programmes in liaison with the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS).

Salford Professional Development and RICS will deliver global specialist distance-learning courses in project management in construction. Originally developed jointly with RICS for the Indian market, the programme will now also be available on line to professionals across the world.

Led by Professor Mohammed Arif, Professor of Sustainability and Process Management at the University’s School of the Built Environment and International Director for the College of Science and Technology, the course builds on 18 months of work with RICS and its members in India and will be available from February 2013.

RICS Training operates globally offering a variety of training products and solutions related to the built environment. The entire training courses are related to the competence needed by surveyors and more in general terms by everyone who is working in the built environment; RICS work with many clients all over the world and working in collaboration we can develop fully customised solution to match the client’s needs with process, technical, business and personal development related programs.

RICS Training produces training content that are relevant to the country or region where they are delivered; case by case best practice and case studies are developed to better support the learning experience of the trainees and better explain the contents and the standards the products are related.

All of the products are designed to allow the interaction with trainer and delegated to maximise the learning experience; all the courses have supporting documentation to allow delegates to follow learning when back in the workplace; the training courses offers a variety of learning methods such as discussion, individual exercises, groups exercises, lectures, networking etc. The online proposition is delivered via the RICS Online Academy, a virtual learning environment designed to allow the best interactive learning experience.
