ONECPD
Continuing professional development (CPD) is more than regular attendance at training courses. It includes peer observation, action research, online activities, mentoring or coaching to name just a few. CPD development is about maintaining, improving and broadening relevant knowledge and skills in a chosen profession or specialism so that it has a positive impact on all your work related activities. This is why ONECPD's mission is simple, and that is to enable those committed to CPD and regular improvement to be able to monitor and develop in a cost-effective and efficient manner all in ONE place.
Remember, CPD is about you. But, it is also about how you can contribute to the success of your team and ultimately, your organisation, and this should always be a determining factor in any activity that you might carry out.
ONECPD is part of the Salford Professional Development reflective process that we recommend as part of all our CPD activity. We encourage all cardholders to follow these processes:
- Regularly reflect on your personal and professional development needs and goals and consider how these fit in with those of your organisation; or for those responsible for CPD activity reflect on the needs of the workforce, and what activity is required to improve performance and productivity
- Create and implement your own, or if you are the person responsible, your workforce's professional development plan
- Evaluate and measure the impact on your colleagues and workforce, on your own practice and those around you;
- Identify skills and knowledge gaps across your organisation and/or an individual
- Reflect on the impact of change on your day-to-day behaviour and activities
- Find ways to share, adapt and transfer best practice
- Challenge each other's reflections and conclusions and encourage one another to see things from different perspectives
- Share expertise within and across teams
- Help one another to implement and review key strategies
