The course will be run over a twelve week period for 3 hours per session. It will offer the necessary skills and knowledge required when working therapeutically with children and young people. It will be delivered by a range of experienced practitioners who will be able to present their knowledge and skills reflecting current practice and ways of working.

The course aims to develop knowledge and skills relating to counselling and psychotherapeutic work with children and young people. It will provide an opportunity for you to explore the nature of working with children and young people and will support the philosophical underpinnings of your way of working. It will enable you to develop an understanding of the developmental, clinical, legal and ethical considerations required when working with children and young people. The module offers the flexibility to develop an individual portfolio of learning and creates a structure in which there will be opportunities to reflect and explore further an area of interest within this field.
