This course will provide you with a rigorous theoretical and evidence based introduction to using Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapy with children and young people experiencing mental health difficulties or disorder.It will enable you to further develop cognitive behaviour therapy knowledge and skills for the practical application of working with children, young people and their parents/carers. Supporting you to understand the developmental, clinical, legal and ethical considerations and adaptations required when working with children and young people.It will enable you to critically discuss and apply the research evidence for use Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapy interventions with children, young people, and their carers, within your own working context.

Practitioners from across health, social care, education and independent sector, who want to use evidence based cognitive behavioural interventions with children, young people and young adults experiencing emotional or mental health issues,
e.g. school counsellors, child and adolescent mental health (CAMH) practitioners in community and inpatient settings, independent therapists, therapeutic and looked after children social workers, youth workers, mental health practitioners working in early intervention teams; home-based treatment and crisis intervention teams
Useful CPD for people already trained in CBT wanting to enhance their skills for working with this age group, or for people already working with children, young people and families who would like to build their therapeutic intervention knowledge and skills.
