The Social Housing Conference

Almost 18 months on from the publication of the social housing white paper that promised -residents in social housing are safe, are listened to, live in good quality homes, and have access to redress when things go wrong – has the vision for large scale improvements been met?

The long-awaited need for change following the Grenfell Tower fire, has seen the Regulator of Social Housing (RSH) have increased powers, ensuring that a more proactive approach is taken in making landlords accountable for their actions. Social landlords are set to be measured on five main themes, including repairs, building safety, effective complaints handling, respectful and helpful tenant engagement, and responsible neighbourhood management.

Despite these landmark changes, can more be done to improve the lives of tenants? With 1 in 5 people living in fuel poverty, a total of over 3 million UK homes, how are we addressing such important issues? Will technology pave the way for radical holistic improvements or is it simply a matter of increased funding?

Salford Professional Development will bring experts and innovators in the field for the seventh time to try and answer these crucial questions. An informative day filled with useful case studies, practical advice, methods of improving customer experience, data capture and analysis, as well as an opportunity to discuss your challenges and ask questions to our panel of experienced speakers.

Moving to Universal Credit? Impact on Tenants and Landlords...

A look at which claimants would be better off delaying a move on UC, and which may be better off on UC. For many, there may be more to consider than just the level of entitlement - for instance, the level of deductions, impact of future known changes, conditionality requirements. This session will consider issues for landlords, including how to advise or signpost, which groups are more at risk of losses and the timing of UC claims to enable as smooth a transition as possible. Make sure your customers take all the relevant factors into account before making the move onto UC.
