DE2013
The University of Salford will host DE2013 – the fourth annual Digital Economy Conference – at MediaCityUK from Monday 4-Wednesday 6 November 2013.
The Research Councils UK (RCUK) Digital Economy All Hands conference is a multidisciplinary environment in which innovative thinkers and researchers are able to share ideas about how to make an impact on society across a range of sectors including transport, healthcare, financial services, and the creative industries.
DE2013 will have a particular focus on Open Digital, exploring the concept of digital openness, from the implications of shareware and gift economies to open-source creative communities and open access data, content and ideas
Taking place across MediaCityUK, the conference will take advantage of the state-of-the-art digital facilities at the University of Salford, the BBC and The Lowry. The conference will span three days, with the third day ending at lunch, and will incorporate keynote speeches, technology demonstrators and workshops as well as formal paper sessions and the Telling Tales competition. We would especially like to encourage the involvement of doctoral students and aim to keep the delegate fee low to support this.
A full programme will be announced in August.
Call for submissions
Submissions for technology demonstrators, paper presentations & workshop proposals are welcome from anyone in the research or industrial community whether funded by the RCUK Digital Economy theme or not; PhD student submissions are particularly welcome.
