Assessment & Feedback

CC BY 2.0 (Flickr: Alberto G - Exam )

Assessment and feedback are central to our students development during their programme, and as such are a key aspect of the Universities drive for academic improvement. It is expected that staff use a well aligned blend of formative assessment, qualitative feedback, summative assessment, and quantitative feedback throughout a course to ensure assessment is both developmental for students and provides clear expected levels of achievement.

On this page you will find information on how you can develop your academic practice for both formative and summative assessment activity and the support available to you, as well information on relevant regulations and policy relating to assessment at the University of Salford. If you are new to teaching, you may also be interested in the PGCAP programme offered by the Quality and Enhancement Office, available to all staff at the University of Salford.
