The Health and Social Care Academy (HaSCA) is an initiative designed to align the School of Nursing, Midwifery, Social Work and Social Science (NMSWSS) and School of Health Sciences (HS) with SPD's health and social care training and events portfolio under one roof. This ensures the schools are ableto provide expertise in profession specific and also multidisciplinary learning which is supported by our network of Honorary Professors and world leading research centres.

HaSCA provides access to a wide range of post-graduate programmes and accredited provision for students wanting a hands-on, work-based high quality learning experience. Industry placements with HaSCA strategic partners will actively prepare post.graduate students for relevant industry employment. equippingthem with the necessary skills needed to succeed in the workplace and allowing them to test out their theoretical knowledge.

The School of Nursing, Midwifery, Social Work and Social Sciences is home to over 120 academic staff who are all qualified professionals and experts in their fields, offering students the best real world education with access to state of the art facilities.

The School offers many post-qualifying programmes for professionals such as nurses, midwives and social workers. It provides a stepping stone between degree and masters level courses for those who may only have studied to diploma level or who haven't studied for some time.
