This intensive course equips students with the necessary skills to operate as a video journalist using mobile technology to produce broadcast quality video. You will be introduced to a variety of video techniques and analyse examples of the best digital storytelling on the web.
You will discover how to find stories for video, how to tell them in a compelling narrative and develop advanced storytelling techniques. The course will offer an overview of the different technical needs of the video journalist, including file types, codec and frame rates.
You will learn in practice how to use different cameras and microphones, including minicams and mobile phones to produce high quality video. As part of the course, you will spend time with professional video journalists, analysing the work that they have produced and learning from they how they find and tell stories.
