The Future of Public Services Conference: Digital transformation in Government
“Central to this [plan] is building the capability of Government to not only design, develop and operate modern digital public services but also to transform old government infrastructure.” – UK Digital Strategy
The UK Digital Strategy 2017 sets out the Government’s plan to introduce new digital initiatives and transform the way the public sector operates by 2020. By increasing the availability of digital services, the Government hopes to increase efficiency, improve transparency and deliver a better user experience. The UK is already recognised as a world leader in “digital government” but there are a number of barriers preventing further developments. In total, 75% of public sector leaders believe their organisation’s digital capabilities are behind those of the private sector. A lack of funding for digital infrastructure and a skills shortage in the public sector workforce are cited as significant reasons for this shortfall.
Join us for the Future of Public Services Conference where expert speakers will explain the challenges and opportunities posed by digital transformation in the public sector. Discuss how the public sector can address the skills shortage, understand how organisations can balance increasing digitalisation with robust cyber security and see how user experiences can help shape digital transformation.
