STPs and Mental Health Conference: Re-thinking models of care
“Sustainability and Transformation Plans (STPs) are an opportunity to improve mental health services across the country, reversing historic underinvestment and integrating them with physical health services.” – NHS England
One in every £8 spent by the NHS in England is linked to poor mental health and wellbeing. As health leaders introduce STPs to put the NHS on a more sustainable footing by 2020, it is vital that a greater emphasis is placed on improving mental health. Moving forward, health organisations and local authorities must balance immediate improvements with the long term goals set out in the Five Year Forward View for Mental Health and the Dementia Implementation Plan. Priorities include services for young people, improving access to community based care and cutting waiting times.
Join us for the STPs and Mental Health Conference where expert speakers from across the NHS will address the challenges and opportunities posed by reforming mental health services. Understand how the NHS can engage service users to identify areas that need improvement, how the new care model vanguards can inform the STP process and how integrating physical and mental health will work on a day-to-day basis.
