Belief Based Safety Leadership Course (London)
A ‘true’ Safety Culture is characterised by an unrelenting commitment to core safety values, policies, procedures and systems at the organisational level ... with safety being made ‘personal’ at the individual and team levels.
At TPI we believe safety is a performance outcome. Our Belief Based Safety Leadership™ process has proven techniques and strategies for developing a safety culture where everyone is accountable for safety – for themselves, their team and their organisation. This process also highlights leadership strategies for developing and maintaining an engaged, accountable and productive workplace.
Successfully used in companies from mining to healthcare, a core objective of BBSL™ is to develop individuals who are independent, self-directed and accountable within the context of organisational or company values, policies and procedures. Belief Based Safety Leadership™ does not replace traditional behaviour-based safety management and skills-based safety training courses. What it provides is a mechanism for greater personal engagement with all other safety interventions and has been shown to increase productivity.

A prime focus of Belief Based Safety Leadership™is identifying the root causes that lead individuals and organisations to function below their safety potential level. Through a mix of presentations, short videos, international case studies and discussion the programme explores how concepts from cognitive psychology can heighten situational awareness at all times in order to improve management, individual and team safety decision-making and outcomes and thus resolve safety issues in the workplace.
BBSL™ facilitates participant discussion around real life safety issues identified by the participants themselves to ensure an understanding of the key concepts and their application to resolve these issues. On completion of this workshop, managers will have an understanding of:
- The role of effective leadership in creating a "true" Safety Culture within which improved and sustained safety outcomes are achieved.
- How to maximise individual, team, departmental, and company-wide performance with a focus on Safety.
- How to approach alignment of the organisation's culture with safety beliefs, values and principles to improve safety decision making at all levels within the organisation.
Building personal efficacy, optimal thinking styles, changing personal beliefs, attitudes, values, habits and expectations.
This first day of the two-day Belief Based Safety Leadership™ program challenges and often changes the key underlying paradigm’s that the participant has about self that impact on their growth and their personal and safety performance.
