Delivering Proton Beam Therapy in the UK
In August 2018, the UK’s first high energy NHS proton beam therapy (PBT) centre will open at The Christie NHS Foundation Trust in Manchester. With a second PBT centre due to open at University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust in 2020, patients will now benefit from local access to this advanced treatment rather than having to travel abroad.
What are the implications of these new centres? How quickly will they be able to accept patients and what will the process be for referrals? What are the standards around efficacy and safety?
ONECPD are pleased to present the Delivering Proton Beam Therapy in the UK Conference, bringing together clinicians, consultants, oncologists, radiotherapists, nurses, physicists and other professionals with an interest in proton therapy to hear first-hand from those leading the agenda – both at a practical and theoretical level.
