About the Role


Salford professional Development Ltd (SPD) was formed as a wholly owned subsidiary of the University of Salford in 2012 and provides non-accredited learning and commercial focus to the University of Salford.  SPD Group has 3 separate business units within it.  

ONECPD. ONECPD focuses on continuous professional development and similar training courses across a range of subjects, preferably but not exclusively, aligned with programmes offered by the University of Salford.  It also delivers a number of events and conferences, and is  building  its  international  presence  in  conjunction  with  the  University’s priorities.

UNITEMPS. Since January 2017, Unitemps, a student employment agency has been operating under the SPD umbrella.  This reflects a desire to promote further growth in additional Business Units with student facing teaching, learning and development using SPD’s Infrastructure  as  a  foundation  for  such  evolution.

SALFORD DIGITAL LEARNING.  Salford Digital Learning is the most recently established business unit, designed to provide access to learning programmes via an online learning platform.

Role Detail

Role Purpose

Salford Professional Development (SPD) are seeking a creative and passionate Digital Marketing Executive to join our fast-paced company at a time of exciting growth. The role holder will take responsibility for the marketing presence of our newly formed online learning business unit, Salford Digital  Learning.

The role holder will utilise their knowledge of the full marketing mix to produce engaging and results driven campaigns across a multitude of channels including email, social, content and paid advertising.

Duties & Responsibilities

The Digital Marketing Executive role is to fulfil the following duties and responsibilities:

  • Plan, write and optimise content for both organic and paid for social media campaigns in line with branding guidelines
    Identify personas and the best route to market                  
  • Manage and maintain the online learning website                  
  • Plan and executive an SEO strategy; ensuring the site is fully optimised to achieve #1 organic ranking for key search terms that are relevant to the brand and services                  
  • Work with digital designer to produce relevant online and offline marketing material                  
  • Develop and deliver excellent email marketing campaigns to increase engagement and reach                    
  • Identify new trends in digital marketing, evaluate new technologies and ensure the brand is at the forefront of industry developments                  
  • Produce and edit videos, podcasts, webinars, blogs and other digital content to online sites                    
  • Monitor digital performance to track behaviour and effectively manage campaigns based off reporting                  
  • Working closely with internal teams and stakeholders to ensure content is aligned to business objectives and maximum exposure for both the brand and organisation is reached                  
  • Utilise knowledge of Google Adwords to create engaging and high performing PPC campaigns; consistently adapting to ensure best CPC is achieved                  
  • Report performance on a weekly basis to key stakeholders across the organisation                  

This role detail is a guide to the work you will initially be required to undertake.  It may be changed from time to time to meet changing circumstances.  It does not form part of your Contract of Employment.
