About the Role


The purpose of the role is to assist the Finance Manager with the production of financial reporting and ensuring all internal controls are enforced.

Duties & Responsibilities

The Assistant Management Accountant role is to fulfil the following duties and responsibilities:

  • Preparing balance sheet reconciliations
  • Processing accruals & prepayments
  • Assisting with the preparation of budgets, month end management accounts and annual statutory accounts
  • Monitoring credit control and assisting with purchase ordering
  • Liaising with budget holders to understand company performance
  • Contributing to the development of the new CRM system
  • Reconciling the Management Information system to Finance System (Agresso)
  • Ad Hoc Duties as required

1.Studying towards a relevant accountancy qualification (Essential - A,I)
2.A good standard of education with ‘O’ Level/ GCSE standard or equivalent, including English & Maths (Essential - A,I)

Background and Experience

The successful candidate should have:Essential/ Desirable - Tested by* A, I, P, T

1.Experience in an accounting environment with Computer accounting systems and software experience (Essential - A,I)
2.Ability and experience of excellent customer relations and to manage tight deadlines whilst remaining calm under pressure (EssentialA,I)
3.Pro-active and able to work on their own initiative (Essential - A,I)
4.Purchase ledger or credit control experience (Desirable - A,I)


The successful candidate should have excellent knowledge of:Essential/ Desirable - Tested by* A, I, P, T

1.Understanding of accounting policies and concepts, financial regulations and internal controls (Essential - A,I)
2.Budgeting and monitoring techniques and practices (Desirable - A,I)
