Citizenship and Social Exclusion

Lead: Professor Peter Dwyer

Social policy research in the School comes together around the twin themes of citizenship and social exclusion.

Team members have a range of expertise in relation to:

  • Social citizenship - especially conditionality and social inclusion exclusion
  • Migration and welfare - including asylum seekers and refugees, labour migrants and international retirement migrants
  • Housing and homelessness
  • Gender issues
  • Health policy

Our studies have been supported by a range of prestigious funders including the Economic and Social Research Council, the Joseph Rowntree Foundation and European Commission.
