Our research team have extensive experience both in terms of clinical practice and research methods. We have excellent links within clinical practice and partner agencies. These include the British Heart Foundation, British Association for Nursing in Cardiovascular Care, the British Association for Day Surgery and many others.  Our collective aim is to generate new evidence to support contemporary nursing practice in acute care settings.

The aims of this research programme include:

  • To evaluate the impact of professional interventions on patients, clients and carers in acute care settings
