Education
1974-1977 University of Salford - first class honours, BSc (hons) Sociology
1977-1978 University Manchester – MA (Econ) Sociology
1983- 1984 Huddersfield Polytechnic – PGCE with commendation
Teaching
1984 -1994 Lecturer - Manchester and Salford, adult education services
1991-2001 Lecturer - Chester College of Higher Education (part time)
1996 - to date Lecturer - University of Salford , initially part time then full time from 2001
