Biography

Karen Staniland is a Senior Lecturer in the School of Nursing, Midwifery & Social work. She has a PhD in medical sociology. She teaches in undergraduate and post-graduate education and is involved with the promotion of flexible, work-based and e-learning in nursing.

Research Interests

Healthcare quality improvement in relation to clinical governance and the essence of care.  Currently engaged in sociological research on pandemic influenza.
