Biography
I spent the first 7 years of my working life within children's residential services in London. After qualifying at the London School of Economics I went to work in a variety of stautory social work settings in the London Boroughs of Hackney and Newham. In 1993 I was working as Prinicipal Officer for Adults with Learning Disabilities for Hertfordshire Social Services, it is within this job that I became very interested in safeguarding issues and went on to work for SCOPE as lead in "Adult and Child Protection" as it was then called. In 2001 I became a lecturer at Salford University in the Joint Program Learning Disability Nursing and Social Work
