Biography
I have over 15 years experience nursing children with complex needs including neurological conditions, which included developing and implementing clinical care standards, and have worked in higher education for 12 years. I am now able to combine my clinical experiences with undergraduate and post graduate nurse education and research.
My main research interests relate to Health professional engagement and collaboration with children and their families as part of the Children, Young People and Families research programme (CYP@Salford). Although I have used a range of research methods, both quantitative and qualitative, I am particularly skilled in the application of thematic analysis and framework approach. I am an ardent supporter of promoting and developing research skills amongst children’s nurses and since 1999 have been an active member of the Royal College of Nursing Research in Child Health (RiCH) Community and currently co-chair the Manchester RiCH group.
I am a member of the College Research Ethics Committee.
