Biography
I am a senior lecturer with a professional background in nursing. My clinical experience has been mainly intensive care and acute medicine. I have been involved with nurse education since 1987 and particularly enjoy seeing the impact that education has on patient care.
Teaching
I am programme leader for the MSc Advanced Practice (Health and Social Care). I teach on a variety of postgraduate and undergraduate programmes on ethical, legal and professional issues. Project management is also another interest. I use a variety of teaching and learning strategies, particularly action learning and work based learning.
I have been an external examiner at several Universities and have been invited as a specialist subject reviewer for postgraduate provision at 2 Universities.
Research Interests
Research interests have included evaluation of several public consultations following changes within the NHS. I also enjoy project work which is in partnership with practice colleagues. I am currently involved along with colleagues in a project to evaluate the impact of advanced practitioners in clinical practice.
