Biography

My nursing career has been in Emergency Nursing, having worked in various Emergency Departments in the North West of England. Posts held include working most recently as an Emergency Nurse Practitioner and Senior Nurse in a large teaching hospital.

I currently maintain my clinical skills working as an honorary Emergency Nurse Practitioner in the Emergency Department at Salford and have an interest in Disaster preparedness, having completed my MSc thesis in this area. My teaching remit extends from pre-registration student nurses – teaching acute and critical illness, and the use of high-fidelity simulation in skills teaching, to MSc students - Advanced Practitioners.

I have also spent some time in Tanzania working in the area of public health (HIV/AIDS) and am currently working on a project exploring the use of information technology to share professional development among nurses in Tanzania and the UK.
