Biography
I joined the university in January 2004 as a lecturer/practitioner, becoming a full time lecturer in May 2006. My clinical background is in the field of substance misuse and I have worked in the field since 1995 and completed an MSc in Drug Use and Addictions in 2003 and an Msc in Public Health and Society in 2010. I have a strong interest in promoting mental health and social inclusion.
Teaching
Personal tutor for tutorial group in September 2010 diploma intake and March 12 degree intake.
Currently teaching on the pre-reg modules: Nursing and Health, Introduction to Mental Health nursing, Substance Misuse and self harm (joint module lead), Society, Policy and practice and Promoting Mental Health module (module lead), flexible learning (temp).
Post-reg modules: Core Skills and Concepts (module lead) and Non-medical prescribing module.
Guest lecturer on other modules on substance misuse.
Research Interests
February 2009 Grey Literature Review for NHS North West.
Part of the research team for ‘Evaluating the Wirral “Health Service in Schools” Scheme’
