Biography

Prior to entering academia Karen was a manager in a single health and social learning disability service where she developed a keen interest in interprofessional and collaborative working and learning.  Karen joined Salford University in 1995 to programme lead a joint qualification programme in nursing and social work.  Since that time she has held numerous posts in the Schools and University and is currently Associate Dean International and Acting Associate Dean Academic in the College of Health and Social Care. . Karen remains committed to improving the lives of people with learning disabilities and until recent changes chaired the Salford Learning Difficulty Partnership Board. Karen’s research has focused on interprofessional collaboration amongst health and social care academics.
