Biography

I trained as an adult nurse ( SRN) in 1982 followed by my RMN in 1985 . Most of my clinical career centered in Neurosurgical nursing during which time I undertook the ENB 148, ENB 998 and City and Guild 7307. I undertook a BA Health Studies in 1999 followed by MA Healthcare Ethics and Law in 2006.

Teaching

I predominantly teach Pre -Registration Nursing across the DIPHE ( Ord) and BSc( Hons) RN programmes. My post -qualifying teaching focuses on professional, legal and ethical aspects of nursing as well as critical illness, pain management and interprofessional working.

I am a member of the Acute Illness Manangement training team within the school.

Research Interests

Clinical decision making and medicines management as well as acute illness management. Examinations and Assessments.

I hold the RN,RMN, BA ( Health Studies) MA ( Medical Law and Ethics) PGCE (HE) ENB 998, 148, C&G 7307

I am a member of the British Society of Neurosurgical Nurses.
