Biography

I am a Professor of Sociology at the University of Salford, having previously been a lecturer and senior lecturer. I have been a Pro-Vice Chancellor (2010-14), Executive Dean (2012-14 and 2006-2010), Head of School (2002-2005), Associate Dean (2000-01) and Research Institute Director (1998-2001) at the University.  I previously worked at the Universities of Edinburgh and Lancaster.

Teaching

Currently: Culture, Power and Identity (L4) and Popular Culture and the Media (L5and 6).

Research Interests

Sociology of Culture.
