Having worked in different areas of the National Health Service for 12 years. I have a gained a vast amount of experience in Infant Feeding and Breastfeeding. My key areas of expertise and working towards achieving the UNICEF Baby Friendly Initiative within the community and hospital setting. I have also worked within the University to achieve UNICEF Accreditation for the pre-registration and post registration midwifery courses.
My role within the University is to deliver Midwifery Education from Level 4 to Level 7 with breastfeeding and clinical skills as specialties. I am also part of the admissions team recruiting student midwives onto our oversubscribed midwifery courses.
I am currently developing a level 7 module and several independent study days and I am working alongside the Nursing Directorate to incorporate key aspects of basic midwifery with the Student Nurse Programme.
