Biography
I have been a Senior Lecturer within the Directorate of Radiography since January 2013. This role includes teaching radiography to under- and postgraduate students and undertaking research. Previously, I was a lecturer at the University of Liverpool for six years.
My professional background is in diagnostic radiography, and my teaching and research activities are centred within the Radiography directorate and the Diagnostic Imaging Research Programme. I am still a practicing clinical radiographer and undertake bank duties at a local NHS Hospital.
Teaching
Academic activity includes teaching on under- and postgraduate radiography programmes.
Personal teaching activity mainly relates to cardiovascular imaging and research, in particular clinical radiographic research and the cross-sectional imaging of blood vessels.
I am an external examiner and have taught on many internationally vascular imaging workshops.
Research Interests
Research interests include radiation dose optimisation for computerised and digital radiographic equipment. In addition, I have a wealth of experience in the medical imaging assessment of medical devices for complications/failure.
I currently hold a NIHR Doctoral Research Fellow investigating the movement of fenestrated aortic stent-grafts during follow-up. I sit on the Society and College of Radiographers Research group and I have supervised MSc/MD projects and I am a reviewer for the journals Radiography, European Journal of Radiography and Journal of Endovascular Therapy.
