Biography
I have spent the majority of my working life employed within the adult social care sector. Prior to qualifying as a social worker I worked with people with learning disabilities in a number of settings. I developed a strong interest in advocacy and user-led organisations and worked for several years as the co-ordinator of a citizen advocacy project. As a qualified social worker I worked as an ASW within a community mental health team.
I have worked for a number of years within workforce development. This has included posts within both the statutory and independent sectors. Here I was responsible for supporting the learning and development needs of the organisation including training on adult social care issues.
I am currently trustee of a local used-led advocacy organisation.
