State-of-the-art Facilities
The School of Nursing, Midwifery & Social Work is home to state-of-the-art facilities which enable students to practice new skills in a safe environment under the supervision of a qualified practitioner.
Patient Simulation Laboratory
Our Simulation Laboratory, located in the Mary Seacole Building has a ward setting and six patient simulators, to give you the chance to practice health-related scenarios in a safe, realistic environment, without any risk or harm to real patients.
Clinical Practice Wards
Located in the Mary Seacole Building (second floor) our four rooms are designed to replicate a hospital environment with patient's beds, lockers, chairs, sinks and curtains. Audio-visual equipment, internet and a teaching area are also available.
Skills Rooms
We also have a number of clinical skills rooms that enhance student learning from taking blood pressure, to giving CPR and more complicated procedures so that you get used to working in a ward situation.

Library, Learning Suite and Internet Facilities
You will have access to a fully stocked library in the Allerton Building as well as easy access to computer and internet facilities, including our virtual learning environment, Blackboard. There's also our state-of-the-art learning suites that have interactive whiteboards and video conferencing capability.
