What are the arrangements for mentors/assessors?
Students are allocated a mentor prior to arrival - they have the option to change after their 1st week.A timetable is set on commencement of placement for the dates of initial, midpoint and final assessment interviews
What shift patterns are students allocated for learning?
19.00 - 07.30
Normal Day Shift - 07.00 - 19.30
What patient care situations are available in this placement?
- Most patients are elective short stay surgical patients and the majority should be discharged within 23hours 59mins of admission.
- Gynaecological and urology Patients may stay for longer
- We also receive some emergency admissions from A&E
