The Memory Assessment Service promotes the early identification of dementia by encouraging people to attend a specialist assessment, with patients referred to the service by their GP following initial tests.
Additional support and management can be offered post diagnosis by various members of the multi-disciplinary team. If dementia is diagnosed we provide treatment, care and support as needed following diagnosis, which includes a comprehensive range of evidence-based interventions alongside medication (if appropriate) for all forms of dementia.
