What is organised for students on commencement of placement?
Orientation and welcome pack, Induction Programme
What are the arrangements for mentors/assessors?
Arrangements are made for Mentors and Associate Mentors to spend time with students to discuss their learning objectives and discuss the student's documentation. Students will work a minimum of two shifts per week with their Mentor/ Associate Mentor.
What shift patterns are students allocated for learning?
7:30am - 3:30pm
1.00pm - 9.00pm
Nights are available if part of the students learning objectives.

- Patient Discharges and Social Work Team
- Elderly Care
What nursing model is used for planning care?
Roper, Logan and Tierney.

Evidence based care protocols are implemented as per the Trust guidelines.

This is a very busy 23 bedded medical ward. There is an opportunity for students to observe the multi-disciplinary team within clinical practice that will enhance the students learning experience.
