What shift patterns are students allocated for learning?
Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm.
It is recognised that some students have to travel a long distance from their home to their practice placement, and this can sometimes mean two buses. Students experiencing this are allowed to leave the placement early, to get buses home.
However, this is not providing equity to all students, and also, these students are not fulfilling the correct number of hours in practice according to the NMC and university policies If students need to leave early they must undertake some reflection of their work day and share this with their mentor as this is evidence that time has been made up.
