About this placement
What is organised for students on commencement of placement?
What are the arrangements for mentors/assessors?
Students will be allocated a mentor and an associate mentor on their first day on the department. Whenever possible their off duty will be similar.
What shift patterns are students allocated for learning?
Monday to Friday: 08.30 - 17.00. Or (11.30 - 20.00). Half day is 8.30 - 13.00. Saturday: 08.30 - 13.00 Sunday: 12.30 - 17.00 Weekends are rarely assigned to students as during the week is the busiest time.
What patient care situations are available in this placement?
Holistic care for patients attending the plaster room, having been involved in trauma.
