About the School
We are a forward thinking and dynamic School with a commitment to lifelong learning. We are home to over 120 academic staff who are all qualified professionals and experts in their fields, and that means we can offer the best real-world education.
We have a long tradition of working closely with local organisations such as the NHS and this ensures your studies will be focused in the real world, enabling you to develop the skills and knowledge that are relevant to the workplace and, more importantly, the needs of your patients or clients. Most of all, we are a School that believes in providing the support and guidance that will help you make a success of your chosen career.
World-class facilities
We offer world-class facilities and our Mary Seacole Building houses state-of-the-art lecture theatres and seminar rooms as well as our Clinical Practice Wards.
Diverse range of Health and Social Care courses
We offer a wide range of courses for today's challenging health and social care environment. We have a long established reputation for delivering excellent undergraduate, postgraduate and post-qualifying education and health CPD training.
Excellent research
The rich knowledge and expertise gained from our research activities helps to inform nursing and health care practice and the delivery of our wide-ranging education portfolio.
Service users and carers group
We have formed a service users and carers group in response to student feedback and concern for the patient voice in the nursing curriculum. There is a core group of 12-15 people and all have had experience of the health service or a health issue in some shape or form as either a service user and/or carer.
Community partnerships
Our staff are involved with a wide range of other organisations and projects and these collaborations give that added extra to our education provision.
