Salford’s engineering courses ranked highly in global survey

For the second year running, Salford has been ranked in the top 101-150 bracket for its civil and structural engineering courses in the QS World University Rankings by Subject survey.

The annual review of almost 3,000 institutions is a comprehensive guide to the world’s top universities in a range of popular subject areas. Using data on reputation and research citations, the rankings highlight the 200 top universities for 30 individual subjects.

Salford’s civil engineering and structural engineering scored highly with academics and employers in the rankings. Civil engineering has been taught at the University since 1896, and its undergraduate and postgraduate taught courses offer a strong practical content which is popular with students and employers alike.

The University also has a Civil Engineering Research Group which looks at subjects of critical importance such as structural engineering, water systems and transport planning.
