Pushing Boundaries, Flying Higher

With keynote speeches from acclaimed fiction writers Melvin Burgess and Nicola Morgan, ‘Pushing Boundaries, Flying Higher’ is a conference seeking to establish the position and character of the young adult novel at this point of the 21st Century.  As well as input from our key note speakers delegates can enjoy a variety of talks and workshops delivered by academics, writers, teachers, librarians and publishers.  

Melvin Burgess is a writer of fiction for young adults. He was awarded the Carnegie medal for his best-selling novel, Junk and has continued to push the boundaries with his challenging texts for young people.  

Award-winning writer and professional speaker Nicola Morgan, best known for her novel, Mondays Are Red, writes for young people and has become an expert on the teenage brain.  She also has many publications that offer advice to new writers.
